My parents are what first brought me to church here, literaly. I started attending Calvary when I was 1½ years old and have been going ever since! The people are what I like best about attending Calvary. The term “church” in the Bible never refers to a building or structure. It always refers to the people, the Body of Christ. Randy has mentioned many times in his sermons that he believes God is calling Calvary to be a lamp stand church in our community. I believe that too. God has blessed Calvary richly in its 46 years and will surely continue to do so as we are faithful in honoring and serving Him. I’m humbly proud to be part of a church whose mission statement is “To make disciples for Jesus Christ…”
The summer before my freshman year of high school, my parents (Steve & Debby Paullin) started looking for a new church home. They wanted a better youth program for my brother, sister and I. We actually ended up attending only one new church – Calvary. My mom and I helped my aunt (who was already attending Calvary) with Vacation Bible School and we stayed. Calvary is a very family oriented church for us. We have friends at Calvary we have known for so long that we consider them family. We also have immediate family that attends Calvary – Darren’s parents and his brother’s family, my parents, and my aunt – this offers our children (and Darren and I) a wonderful opportunity to grow closer to family through Christian fellowship and worship.
