My husband Gary and I had been married only two weeks when we moved into an apartment across from the church on Jersey Avenue. The size of the congregation is what first brought us to Calvary. Gary and I wanted to worship in a small church. The location was also perfect. Our friend and relative Sharon Lawlis invited us to attend as she thought it might be a good “match” for us, and she was right!
The family, small church atmosphere at Calvary is very important to me. Even though we are no longer a small church, the atmosphere of love, support and caring for each other is thriving here. I believe it will be important to maintain that atmosphere as we continue to grow into a larger church body.
I very much like the sermons and the meaningful worship services which we have consistently every Sunday. I also appreciate the vast variety of ministries and programs at Calvary. Regardless of one’s passions or needs, there is something for everyone!
