Lisa (attending since 2004)

I have attending Church all of my life, but Calvary is where my faith journey began.  Joe, my husband, was brought up in the Catholic Church and I was raised in the Quaker Faith.  It was a struggle for us as a family to attend the Catholic Church and meet all of our spiritual needs as a family.  Our children fought with us, Joe and I fought, I questioned things, he didn't, but finally after 2 years of praying, we decided to try something new.  Luckily we have neighbors who attend Calvary and so our family started to attend. Calvary was a perfect fit for us.  The Methodist faith was structured like the Catholic faith and had many similarities, yet had beliefs and doctrines more like what I was accustomed to.   I was finally feeling welcome in God's house.  I was able to receive communion for the first time at Calvary.  As time went on we became very comfortable, everyone made us feel very welcome and part of a church home.

I love Randy's sermons and the Wednesday morning Bible Study.  I love how Randy brings in humor, appeals to home life, personalizes the message and ties it all back into the Bible.   He is so knowledgeable of the Bible.  I continue to be so very impressed each week with his powerful sermons.  Wednesday morning Bible study is another personal favorite of mine.  The bond that we all have with one another, from young to young at heart; those ladies are so special to me.  I love each and every one of them.  They are what get me through each week, knowing their faith, their commitment, their prayers, and their support for me and one another.
