Participatory Planning Groups
(Please, please, please keep reading despite this – yawn - title!)

You know how it is when a group of people are witnesses to an event? Their descriptions and stories afterward vary from person to person depending on a number of things. That’s why we need YOU. Oh, you’re still not sure what this is all about?

A number of Participatory Planning meetings have been scheduled (see below) and the Building Committee invites you – actually we might beg you, but that would be soooo uncool – to attend one of them.

These meetings will be led by members of our architect team in order to hear what YOU think needs to be considered for Calvary’s next building phase. Just as those eyewitnesses don’t all report the same thing, neither will we. Our interests, ages, families, involvement and more will shape how we answer that question. You’re always early? Your thoughts on parking may differ from mine when I roll in at the last minute. You’re the expert on infant nursery if your child is in there. Etc. Etc. Each of us will be a witness to the parts of life at Calvary that we see and experience.

You can see that really requires a lot of participation (hence part of that ho-hum title) in order to put together a complete picture. And, yes, if you are a newer member we still need you, too. What drew you to Calvary? What did you see at your previous church that worked and we might try here? You can add a fresh and important look at our needs that will complement the ideas of those who have been here longer.

So, what’s the “planning process” part mean? The ideas shared will be used to allow the architects to begin drawing specific plans for our Phase Two expansion and to help determine priorities. Disclaimer: obviously we don’t have funds to do everything, but the Master Plan – and isn’t that a fitting name for a church plan? – the Master Plan will help us look to the future, too. The plan for this building was entirely based on the wonderful input from similar meetings (then called Focus Groups) and we’re counting on you again this time.

Thank You!
