Each Christmas the Appalachian Mission Project provides more than 10,000 food and gift baskets to the residents in and around Louisa, KY. Louisa is located deep in the heart of economically depressed Appalachia. The Appalachian Mission Project which was founded more than 50 years ago by Father Beiting, a Catholic Priest.
The Midwest Food Bank will be sending two truckloads of supplies to Louisa, KY during November and December to assist the Appalachian Mission Project. Calvary members can get involved by donating new or “gently used” stuffed animals that will be used in the Christmas gift baskets. A bin is located in the Atrium for donations. The last Sunday to contribute is Sunday, December 2.
