The Christmas season is a great time to reflect on our current blessings and our dreams for the future.  As we’ll hear through the Advent sermon series, little things such unpacking the ornaments for a Christmas tree remind us of all the blessings we’ve received over the years.  Advent is a time for giving thanks, looking forward and for renewing our spirit by celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.

In this spirit, we give thanks for what has been giving toward the 2008 Stewardship Campaign.  To date, we have collected 343 pledges totaling $1,140,802 in support of our church’s ministries for next year.  Thanks to all of you who have made the decision to support the church through a pledge to this year’s campaign.

As we enter into the time of the year where our Finance Committee helps plan the budget for 2008, it is beneficial for them to have as much information about planned giving to the church during next year.  We still continue to accept “Connect 4 Stewardship Campaign” Pledge Cards for 2008.  If you haven’t yet turned in a pledge card, please prayerfully consider starting, continuing or increasing your pledge for 2008.  Pledge Cards are available at the Welcome Center and can be turned in at the Church Office or in the offering during worship .  We’d like to make 2008 a year that continues to grow the great works of Calvary and continues our mission of Making Disciples for Jesus Christ.
