You can spend money at places like local restaurants, buy home improvement items, get your groceries, fill up the gas tank and generate income for Calvary! It’s easy, painless and convenient. It’s called a scrip program and here’s how it works:
- Purchase gift cards for the participating businesses where you shop
- Calvary orders the cards at a discounted amount (varies by card)
- The difference in the face value and the discount amount goes to reduce our outstanding mortgage
Order Sundays or Wednesdays
Complete an order form, write your check, turn it in at the scrip table in the atrium on Wednesday evenings 5:45 – 6:30 pm or Sunday mornings 9-11 am. Orders placed by 11 am on Sundays will be ready the following Wednesdays. Wednesday orders will be available the following Wednesday.
Estimated income?
The program is only open to non-profit organizations like churches and schools.
Income depends entirely on the level of participation of the congregation. Holy Trinity has been doing this for about 4 years and anticipates income of about $35,000 a year.
In Calvary’s first year under the program, we have earned over $6000. That’s $6000 that has been paid on the principle of our current mortgage.
