Local Missions Support
Calvary has a long history of reaching out to the community through service. We support the following organizations through our prayers, our hands and our gifts.
   
The Baby Fold - The Baby Fold is a not-for-profit organization affiliated with The United Methodist Church and is licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). The Baby Fold is a multi-service agency that provides residential, special education, child welfare and family support services to children and families in Central Illinois.
   
The Boys & Girls Club of Bloomington/Normal - The Boys & Girls Club Of Bloomington-Normal is a facility-based youth enhancement program providing after-school and summer activities to serve the educational, recreational, emotional, cultural and social needs of young people (ages 5-18), especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
   
BroMenn Healthcare - The BroMenn Healthcare System has maintained a strong relationship with the church since the faith-based Brokaw and Mennonite hospitals merged in 1984. The Brokaw-Mennonite Association (BMA) was formed to support and encourage healthcare services through faith at BroMenn. Calvary is pleased to partner with them as a delegate member of the BMA as well as a provide support for various community services like the BroMenn counseling program.
   
Children's Foundation Crisis Nursery - The Crisis Nursery provides parents, caregivers and guardians assistance during difficult times. The Child Specialist staff of the Crisis Nursery provides nurturing and attentive care 24/7, to children ages birth through six years. Family Enhancement Specialists work with the parents or caregivers to help them through the crisis that led them to the Crisis Nursery.
   
  Clare House - Clare House in Bloomington is a Catholic Worker house that was founded on the example of similar homes that began during the depression in New York City. It provides assistance to those in need in our community through a food pantry and support for families and individuals.
   
Crop Walk - This community-based fund raising event raises money for local hunger fighting agencies as well as the international relief and development efforts of Church World Service.
   
Cunningham Children's Home - Cunningham Children's Home has a rich history of caring for children. However, the Cunningham story is not just a story of past history. Cunningham Children's Home continues to adapt and change to meet the present day needs of troubled children and youth. Furthermore, it continues to prepare to meet the needs of future generations.
   
East Bay Camp - East Bay Camp, a United Methodist camp, is located just north of Bloomington/Normal on Lake Bloomington. For more than 75 years, East Bay has provided life-changing experiences during week long summer camps and fall/winter retreats. Calvary proudly supports East Bay and their commitment to share Christ with campers.
   
Habitat for Humanity of McLean County - HFHMC is a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a non-profit Christian housing ministry working to eliminate poverty housing worldwide.  As a social service agency, homebuilder and mortgage lender, HFHMC partners with volunteers and families on a non-discriminatory basis to build simple, decent, affordable houses and sell them at cost through a no-interest loan. 
   
Home Sweet Home Ministries - Home Sweet Home Ministries is an interdenominational Christian organization serving homeless and low-income individuals and families through a variety of programs. Founded in 1917, Home Sweet Home provides numerous services 24 hours daily, 365 days a year.
   
  Mom & Me Camp - Mom and Me Camp brings together children ages 7 to 12 years old who have mothers incarcerated at the Decatur and Lincoln Correctional Centers in Illinois. They come together at the correctional centers during the day for a "day camp." Each evening the children return to East Bay Camp on Lake Bloomington. While at the day camp, the children and their mothers enjoy activities such as crafts and games as well as renewing their relationships. The children are able to enjoy a true summer camp experience at East Bay Camp in the evenings by participating in swimming, hiking, boating and fellowship.
   
  Neville House - This organization provides 24-hour emergency shelter, as well as legal advocacy, intervention services, support groups for children dealing with domestic violence, parenting classes, community education groups, training seminars and more. All of these services are provided free of charge in a confidential setting.
   
  Partners for Community - Partners for Community and its sub-organization Recycling for Families, provides clothing, furniture and other support to families and individuals overcoming homelessness.
   
  PATH - Providing Access to Help (PATH) links people to services in central Illinois. It provides a 24/7 crisis, information and referral hotline, services for people over the age of 60 and their caregivers and intervention for people who are homeless.
   
Project Oz - Project Oz is a not-for-profit human service agency that has been serving youth and families in McLean County for over 20 years. Services focus on preventing drug abuse, empowering high-risk youth and young adults, helping runaway kids, and preventing other destructive behaviors, such as gang involvement.
   
Safe Harbor Mission - This local ministry of the Salvation Army has been providing assistance to the homeless of Bloomington/Normal since 1991. Safe Harbor provides a safe and warm environment to sleep, storage of some personal belongings, breakfast and dinner, shower and laundry facilities and case management services, including access and referral to local resources.
   
ShareFest - Founded in 2003, this yearly event brings together area churches, businesses and community organizations to make a difference in McLean County. Work projects in neighborhoods and schools, collection for food pantries and a blood drive are just a few of the activities that take place during this two-day event.
   
Western Avenue Community Center - Serving the community since 1926, the WACC mission is to offer at the neighborhood level a comprehensive service of health, welfare, recreation and education coordinated around the family as a unit.
