National Missions Support
Beyond our church and community, Calvary supports mission projects across the country. From New Mexico to Kentucky and every place in between Calvary is there.
   
Ruth Wiertzema - Ruth A. Wiertzema is Director of Connectional Ministries in the Red Bird Missionary Conference. This ministry with rural Appalachian people is located in southeastern Kentucky and is the most comprehensive mission project of the United Methodist Church in the United States. Ruth is the resource/program staff person for Red Bird providing leadership in all program areas to the 23 churches, four outreach centers, and four mission institutions.
   
Cobden de Jesus Fellowship - This community of faith provides for and meets the social and spiritual needs of Hispanics residing in the southernmost counties of Illinois.
   

McCurdy School - Located in Espanola, New Mexico, McCurdy School seeks to provide quality education in an environment centered on Jesus Christ. Students experience rich cultural diversity, develop into lifelong learners, and are empowered to change the world through service and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.

   
Native American Fellowship - The Native American Fellowship in Edwards, IL was chartered on Pentecost Sunday in 2005 for the purpose of reaching the Native American population in Illinois. Currently there are 100,000 Native Americans in Illinois. The Native American Fellowship now has members from 30 different tribal heritages worshiping each Sunday. God has blessed this congregation, and they are currently holding a capital campaign to secure funds for a permanent building.
   
Red Bird Mission - Red Bird Mission is a ministry of the United Methodist Church in the Appalachian mountains of Southeastern Kentucky. Red Bird seeks to empower individuals advocated justice by providing educational, health, and community outreach ministries. The area of Appalachia where Red Bird is located in one of the most impoverished areas of the United States.
